The Rheintal Werdenberg Sarganserland Hospital Region has standardized patient communication across all its locations and systematically migrated its operations to the cloud. The goal was to streamline processes and reduce technical overhead in the long term.
Background
The RWS hospital region comprises three locations with varying infrastructure and hardware at different stages of their lifecycle. At the same time, there was a desire to clearly separate administrative and patient communications and to streamline existing processes.
Another key aspect was replacing the previous patient identification system using chip cards with a simpler and more uniform solution.
Challenges
The new solution had to work across all locations and accommodate varying technical environments. At the same time, the goal was to implement a secure and practical patient identification system and establish an operational model that reduces internal administrative burden.
Solution
trifact implemented a centrally managed cloud solution based on the “Solution as a Service” model. All patient telephony and the management system are operated from a data center in Central Switzerland.
A comprehensive entertainment system based on trinity is used at the patient’s bedside. Patient identification is handled via an integrated QR scanner, eliminating the need for physical chip cards.
Results
The new solution provides clear standardization across all locations and reduces operational complexity.
- Standardized processes across multiple locations
- Reduced administrative and technical workload
- Secure and Future-Proof Patient Identification
- Relief through an externally operated cloud model
Outlook
The implemented solution lays the groundwork for further digital applications and the ongoing refinement of processes.
