Muri Hospital has specifically upgraded its existing entertainment system while introducing new digital services at the patient’s bedside. The goal was to leverage existing investments and significantly expand the range of features available to patients and staff.
Initial Situation
An existing trimedia solution was in use and needed to be technologically upgraded. At the same time, the goal was to reuse the existing infrastructure as much as possible.
This included, among other things, wall consoles, installation components, telephony, light call systems, and parts of the room control system. In addition, new functions were to be provided for patients, and internal processes—particularly in the nursing sector—were to be optimized.
Challenges
The modernization had to be carried out with the goal of leveraging existing systems and investments while integrating new technologies. It was also essential to seamlessly integrate the solution into existing processes and systems.
Another key focus was on expanding functionality without adding operational complexity.
Solution
trifact upgraded the existing environment while maximizing the reuse of the existing infrastructure. The existing displays were replaced with iPads using the triHold solution and combined with the triApp as the new front end.
The solution offers expanded entertainment and information options as well as additional services. At the same time, integration with the hospital information system was implemented, allowing patients to view their appointments directly from their beds.
Additionally, the system architecture enables further functions such as real-time feedback collection as well as future expansions, for example in the area of localization.
Results
The modernization initiative integrates existing infrastructure with new digital capabilities, resulting in tangible improvements in everyday life.
- Expanded services and information resources for patients
- Streamlined processes in the healthcare sector
- Continued use of existing investments
- Improved transparency through direct access to patient appointments
- A foundation for further digital applications and integrations
Outlook
The implemented solution enables additional applications, such as device tracking, as well as the further expansion of integrated patient services.
