Belair Private Clinic

As part of its room renovations, the Belair Private Clinic in Schaffhausen has specifically modernized its infrastructure at the patient’s bedside. The goal was to improve the patient experience, increase patient independence, and at the same time make staff workflows more efficient.

Background
The Belair Private Clinic is part of the Swiss Medical Network and is known for providing high-quality medical care in a personalized setting. The upcoming renovation of the patient rooms presented an opportunity to further advance the technological capabilities available at the patient’s bedside.

Existing functions were only partially integrated. Key features, such as lighting control, were not directly accessible to patients, and the existing light call system could not be integrated into a higher-level solution. A future-proof, integrated system solution was therefore sought.

Challenges
The implementation took place without interrupting operations and placed high demands on the integration process. The focus was on the seamless integration of the existing light call system (Tyco), the direct control of DALI lights, and the coordination between IT, building services, and external partners.

In addition, it was necessary to ensure that all components worked together reliably and met the demands of everyday clinical practice.

Solution
trifact implemented a modular solution that was rolled out and tested in phases. During a pilot phase, two rooms were fully equipped to test functionality and user-friendliness under real-world conditions.

The implementation included:

  • The launch of the triApp for entertainment and patient information
  • the use of the triDevice to directly control lighting and functions at the bedside
  • the integration of the triNode for controlling the indoor environment
  • The digital expansion and integration of the Lichtruf

In addition, hospital-specific content was made available. Patients can also access features using their own devices.

Result
With the new solution, the patient bed has become a central, intuitive access point for various functions.
Patients benefit from greater comfort and independence in their daily lives. At the same time, nursing staff are relieved of some of their workload thanks to clearer processes and more efficient communication. The solution integrates seamlessly into the existing infrastructure and can be flexibly expanded.

Outlook
The implemented platform lays the groundwork for further digital applications and the ongoing refinement of clinical processes.
